SOPHIE BAYLY

UNSEEN

The art of being invisible, of existing unnoticed in plain view, is a lonely part of the human experience. Like shadows dancing at the edge of consciousness, overlooked souls move through life, perpetually present yet paradoxically unseen.

The act of seeing is not just a matter of looking, but of truly opening ourselves to what’s always been there. Sometimes the most obvious things escape our notice while they wait patiently for us to open our eyes.

ABOUT SOPHIE

Sophie Bayly is a photographer based in Wānaka, New Zealand, though her sense of home stretches far beyond the boundaries of any one place. An avid explorer, Sophie gravitates toward shooting obscure locations, monotone landscapes, minimalist urban scenes and honest portraits. Her work is deeply rooted in a love for simplicity and authenticity.

Horses hold a unique place in Sophie’s life, offering her a sense of calm and connection to the natural world. It is this connection that draws her to photograph them, capturing their quiet strength.

Sophie’s approach to photography is driven by a passion for collaboration, often partnering with people and brands who share her values of good design, quality goods, and a respect for the planet we live on
