JODIE JAMES

PAINT LADY and MOWER LADY

From the series Sleeping on the Job

We are all tired, it's been a few stressful years. In these trying times, exhaustion has become a common phenomenon.

Are we simply going through the motions, sleepwalking through our days, just to get by?  Perhaps we are asleep with our eyes open and we don’t even realise it.

I shot this project as a bit of a reflection of the way things are for me right now. I feel like I have so much to do but I just cannot get it all done.  Possibly a few more power naps per day could be the solution to my problem.

These photographs, all self-portraits, capture this sentiment and were taken in various work environments using a combination of remote shooting, drone, and a self-timer.
