ABOUT LOU
Originally from the deep south, Lou spent the last decade exploring different parts of the world, and how has now set down roots in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Initially her camera was a tool for capturing moments, and contextualizing her presence as a spectator in familiar and foreign spaces.
With a curious nature, she seeks to observe that which may not be revealed at first.
Her approach is fluid and intuitive, letting things unfold organically whilst expressing her underlying ideas and narratives. Often inspired by the female form , she uses soft light to create ethereal imagery, abstracting the body and alluding to themes surrounding connection between people and place, nature and self.
Lous style is woven through her professional work, which lies in portraiture, lifestyle, fashion and branding.
