FIONA WARDLE

Whilst travelling through Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu I found myself Immersed in a variety of colourful cultures.

Each community we visited was eager to share their way of live with us. Be it through Song, food, dance and/or discussion.

And although the village’s differed greatly from the other, there was one re-occurring theme that always arose; Climate Change.

The islands of Melanesia are at great threat from the effects of Climate Change. Faced with tropical storms, droughts, extreme rainfall and rising sea levels each community faces significant challenges and they are worried.

With fewer resources and weaker infrastructure, these smaller countries bear the brunt of the worlds actions.
